Parent Coordinator Introduction:
Hello WBA Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Rosel Garcia and I am the new Parent Coordinator for West Bronx Academy for the Future. I thought I’d share a little bit about my background to give you a better understanding of who I am. A year ago, I worked as a Family Rehabilitation Case Planner assisting the Director of the Preventive Services Program and the New York City Administration for children’s services. In addition, I am currently studying Health Education & Promotion. One of my vision is to help parents build a positive relationship with their children’s school. It is a pleasure to work here at WBA and I want all of you to know that we are in this together and my role in partnership with the school's staffs will be to facilitate support networks and workshops of interest for you. Something important that I would like to share with you is that our students’ progress continues to be successful when parents are involved. For a successful school year, an active parent is the key to strengthening the school's progress, and your child’s education. So, Let's work together to achieve the positive outcomes we like to see. As a parent, I understand your perspective and as a professional I am here to support you and listen to you so for these reasons, I will be giving workshops throughout the school year. Many of these workshops will provide helpful information to better support your child academically and socially.

Me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para presentarme una vez mas. Mi nombre es Rosel García y soy
la nueva coordinadora de padres de West Bronx Academy for the Future. Pensé en compartir un poco sobre mis antecedentes para que comprendan mejor quién soy. Hace un año, trabajé como planificadora de casos de rehabilitación familiar ayudando al Director del Programa de Servicios Preventivos y la Administración de la Ciudad de Nueva York para servicios infantiles. Además, actualmente estoy estudiando Educación y Promoción de la Salud. Una de mis visiones es ayudar a los padres a construir una relación positiva con la escuela y los maestros de sus hijos. Es un placer de trabajar aquí en WBA y quiero que todos ustedes sepan que estamos juntos en esto y mi papel en asociación con el personal de la escuela será facilitar redes de apoyo y talleres de interés para ustedes. Algo importante que me gustaría compartir con ustedes es que el progreso de nuestros estudiantes sigue siendo exitoso cuando los padres se involucran. Para un año escolar exitoso, un padre activo es la clave para fortalecer el progreso de la escuela y la educación de su hijo. Entonces, trabajemos juntos para lograr los resultados positivos que nos gustaria ver. Como padre/Madre, entiendo su perspectiva y como profesional estoy aquí para apoyarlo/a y escucharlo/a. Por lo tanto estaré dando talleres durante todo el año escolar. Muchos de estos talleres brindarán información útil para brindar un mejor apoyo académico y social a su hijo.
