I am currently the Assistant Principal of the high school at West Bronx Academy entering my 16th year at our school. Before becoming an Assistant Principal I served as a History and Arts teacher at West Bronx. Currently I teach the 12th grade Advanced Placement Studio Art course. I moved to NYC from California to work for City Year New York (‘05-’06) after my time there I knew I wanted to work in education.
Outside of my work at West Bronx Academy I love cooking, practicing and teaching yoga, home projects and making art (printmaking and photography). My favorite thing to do on the weekend is spend time with my family, visit the wealth of museums throughout NYC and walk my dogs Poe and Olive to every park we can get to!
I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Women’s Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz('05), a Masters degree from Mercy College in Special Education('08) and a Masters degree in Leadership in the Arts from Bank Street College of Education('13).
